-- "VICTORIA PLACE"/NEW "GAY-BASED" SOAP OPERA
Robby Kendall here, a local playwright. Last month, I opened and closed my first production, "Change: A Family in Conflict." I wrote and directed it for four successful runs. I am currently seeking a cast for my next project, a gay-based soap opera, "Victoria Place," that I wrote. This project is anticipated to be a year-long project, with a "new" episode every 3-4 months. It is designed like a soap opera with several characters "carrying over" into the next episode. Rehearsals will take place for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 months. Performances will take place for 3 to 4 weeks. The first episode is hoped to take place in May (Rehearsals in March and April).
I am seeking actors to play gay men in their 20s/30s for the first (pilot) episode. I need a total of five actors. These are unpaid positions. Flexibility (i.e. evening and weekend rehearsals) and reliability are a must! Some experience is preferred, though not mandatory. I also need some volunteers to help as the crew/stage hands.
It is hoped that this soap opera will be videotaped in the near future and televised. The content is very witty, zany, and applicable to the many facets of our gay community. If you are interested, or you know someone who might be interested, please contact me via email or phone at 954.525.7703. Thank you for your time. Auditions: By appointment only.
